PLAN YOUR RUNNING COSTS
Understand what each wash really costs.
Build a clear picture of your running costs, from water and wash products to everyday care. Use your local tariffs and expected usage to plan a wash price that works for your business.
Water and wastewater
Use the litres consumed during a complete wash and your combined water and wastewater tariff. Cost per wash = litres ÷ 1,000 × cost per cubic metre. Measure a typical session; nozzle flow alone does not tell you how long customers run the water.
Electricity
Include water heating, drying and standby use. Cost per wash = measured kWh per session × your electricity tariff. A rated power figure is not the energy used throughout every minute of a wash. Seasonal inlet-water temperature and customer dryer use can change consumption.
Shampoo and other wash products
Work from the amount actually dispensed, not just the bottle price. Cost per dose = container price ÷ usable volume × dose volume. Include conditioner, tub disinfectant and flea shampoo where fitted. Ask for dosing information, then check it against your own refills.
Payment processing
Allow for transaction charges and any fixed terminal, connectivity or account fees. Confirm the tariff for your payment setup. A percentage fee and a fixed charge per transaction behave differently at different wash prices.
Your regular operating budget
Budget for routine cleaning time, refills, maintenance, spare parts, insurance and any rent or revenue share. Keep finance payments separate when looking at cash flow. Site works and installation belong in your upfront investment.
Build your own cost per wash
Build your estimate using supplier information and local tariffs, then refine it with metered usage once your machine is running. Measured consumption figures for our machines are not yet published, so the calculator uses illustrative inputs that you can adjust.
